Join KosherX Tours, the leaders in upscale kosher adventure travel, as we experience the wonders of Costa Rica. We will hike, cruise and explore through lush, mountainous primary rainforest, national parks and private reserves where wildlife freely roams.  

Guided daily adventures with our naturalists from our Pacific Ocean Beach Resort will allow us to explore everything Costa Rica has to offer; from its awe-inspiring volcanoes & hot springs to rain & cloud forests, to wildlife & bird watching, to pristine waterfalls and rivers.

Our tour concludes with a memorable Shabbat spent with the local community of San Jose, at the beautiful El Centro Israelita Synagogue.

Your Adventure

Day 1 (Sun)

Upon your arrival at San Jose International Airport, you will be met by our guides and transferred to our luxury Pacific Ocean beach resort. We will all gather for a delicious kosher dinner and orientation.

Day 2 (Mon)

*Optional early morning local bird watching at the onsite nature reserve with our resident naturalists. After breakfast, we will board our bus to Carara National Park where we will be led on a private naturalist guided hike along its stunning rainforest trails. As we explore this famous pacific coastal rain forest, we will be sure to see macaws, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, white tailed deer and many more colorful birds and animals. Next, we will board a specially designed boat for a jungle crocodile river safari, observing all the flora and fauna and of course, the crocodiles! After a beautiful buffet lunch at the hotel, we embark on a mountain rainforest adventure where guests can choose from an exhilarating zipline adventure down the mountain or naturalist guided rainforest hanging suspension bridges and platforms that overlook the spectacular lush rainforest from the tops of its trees. We will return to our beach resort for an afternoon of leisure or taking advantage of the resort's many amenities. Delicious dinner followed by an evening program.

Day 3 (Tues)

*Optional early morning local bird watching at the onsite reserve with our resident naturalists. After breakfast, we will head to Rainmaker Conservation Park where we will be given a private guided hiking tour of the lush tropical rainforest. This tour begins with a river walk along the Rio Seco’s edge. Handrails and easy to follow footpaths along with observation platforms allow you to observe waterfalls and capture the rich biodiversity this unique ecosystem has to offer. Rainmaker is home to the famous Morpho butterfly, varieties of birds, the colorful poison dart frog, and thousands of unique plant species. At the end of the walk, a pristine waterfall pool will beckon you to enjoy a refreshing dip. Continuing up the trails, we will come to the Canopy Bridge System. This system consists of suspension bridges, built to U.S. engineering standards. The six sections total 250 meters, spanning from platforms attached to massive hardwood trees to create the most impressive Canopy Walk in Costa Rica. The design permits minimal forest impact, giving our participants an opportunity to explore the majesty of the forest canopy from a bird’s eye view. After our morning adventure, we will return to the hotel for a buffet lunch and an afternoon of leisure or taking advantage of the hotel’s many amenities. Dinner will be enjoyed in our private dining room, followed by an evening program.

Day 4 (Wed)

*Optional early morning local bird watching at the onsite reserve with our resident naturalists. After breakfast, enjoy an ocean and beach adventure aboard a private catamaran to the area's islands and beach reserves. Spend the day enjoying stretches of private beach complete with opportunities to swim, snorkel and kayaks, from the boat and the beaches we visit. We return to the hotel for a delicious buffet lunch and an afternoon of leisure or taking advantage of the hotel’s many amenities. After dinner, we have an optional night hike to view the poison dart frog whose colors become electric at night!

Day 5 (Thurs)

*Optional early morning local bird watching at the onsite reserve with our resident naturalists. After breakfast, we invite you to choose your adventure! We will head to a rainforest adventure park, where you will be given a choice of a waterfall rappelling canyoning, rainforest ziplining adventure or rainforest walk & chocolate tour (for the less adventurous) complete with hands on participation! We will return to the hotel for a delicious buffet lunch and an afternoon of leisure or taking advantage of the hotel’s many amenities. A delicious dinner will be followed by an evening program.

Day 6 (Fri)

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and board our bus to begin our journey back to San Jose. We will stop along the way for an experiential coffee plantation tour and tasting. We will learn all about the amazing coffee bean and its journey into our cups. Upon arrival to San Jose, we will check into our hotel with plenty of time to unwind and get ready for Shabbat. We will begin with a museum tour of the Centro Israelita Synagogue, followed by dinner, Kabbalat Shabbat services and a lecture given by Professor Dr. Aaron Arguedas on the Jews of Costa Rica and Central America.

Day 7 (Shabbat)

The day begins with breakfast in the hotel. We will then walk to the Synagogue for Shacharit services which will then be followed by a community kiddish luncheon. After which, we will be treated to another lecture by Professor Dr. Arguedas. Return to the hotel for a Shabbat rest. We will then gather for Seudat Shlishi, followed by Havdalah and dinner.

Day 8 (Sun)

After breakfast, we will transfer you to San Jose Airport for your journey home.

Kosher Culinary Experience: All daily kosher meals will be freshly prepared in our private dedicated kosher kitchen and served in our private meeting space on-site.  All meals, davening, and evening lectures will take place in our private meeting space.    

San Jose: 2-Nights: The last 2 nights we return to San Jose for a magical shabbat with the Jewish community of Costa Rica. Our hotel (The Hilton Garden Inn) is conveniently located in walking distance of the famous Centro Isralita Synagogue. Hotel amenities include a pool and fitness center.

3rd and 4th person in room: $4390 each
